Urodynamic Assessment Services are available at AWARE Women's Health for both our own clients and those referred by their GP or Specialist for testing.

Urodynamic Bladder Testing is an investigation aimed at accurately determining the cause of bladder symptoms such as incontinence, urgency and pain. It is also done to assess the effect on the bladder of a prolapse when present and to predict the effect of surgical correction of the prolapse. It is recommended that women have this investigation to best inform their medical or surgical treatment.

The test involves the placement of thin catheters in the bladder and rectum which record pressure changes that occur while the bladder is filled with saline. The test is painless and takes approximately 20 minutes.

A comprehensive report of the findings and recommendations for treatment are sent to the referring doctor at completion of the test.
