SARAH MALTBY
Women’s Health Specialist General Practitioner and Director of AWARE Women’s Health
Dr Sarah Maltby completed her training at Flinders University and was awarded the AMA(SA) medal at her graduation in 2011. She completed her General Practice training in rural SA (Mannum) and achieved her fellowship in 2017. She moved to Australia from Canada for her studies and she often travels back to spend time with her family.
Dr Maltby brings many years of experience in Women’s Health and Sexual Health through her previous work at Shine SA, Torrens House and Cedar Health Service. She also works as a Consultant at the Pregnancy Advisory Centre.
Dr Maltby completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2012 and the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health in 2017. She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society.
Dr Maltby enjoys working with individuals of all ages and cultural backgrounds and she prides herself in her individualised, patient centered, and trauma informed care. She really enjoys caring for members of the LGBTIQA+ community and aims to inform and empower all of her patients, to address their health concerns.
She provides consultations for a variety of health needs, including contraception and sexual health, preconception care, investigation and management of menstrual issues such as PCOS and endometriosis, cervical screening, vulval disorders, and breast concerns. She is experienced in the management of perimenopause and menopause and is an MS-2 Step provider. She is also proficient in Implanon and IUD insertion and removal.
Outside of work, Dr Maltby loves spending time with her young family and practices yoga and mindfulness meditation. She also enjoys travelling and spending time in nature.
